Endowing economy with domestic and renewable energy resources of Turkey, in a sustainable manner, Zorlu Energy has commissioned the first unit of Kızıldere III plant, the fourth geothermal power project of Turkey. Started to be installed last year in Sarayköy District of Denizli Province, the plant has been commissioned by Ministry of Energy. The first unit, which has an installed capacity of 99.5MW, kicked off commercial electricity sales.
Commenting on the issue Sinan Ak, Zorlu Energy Group CEO, said, “as a Group prioritizing on sustainability in all the fields of operation, we are proud to have actualized another renewable energy project, which may set an example for Turkey. Constructed through an investment of 320 Million Dollars, the first unit of Kızıldere III geothermal plant will produce 720 million KW/h electricity, with an installed capacity of 99.5MW. Our power plant project Kızıldere III, which we are planning to finalize in the upcoming year, and which is to have a total power of 165MW installed, will be the biggest geothermal plant of Turkey.”
Ak specified that they expanded installed capacity of renewable energy up to 56.6% in their entire portfolio, and 75.3% in Turkey, thanks to Kızıldere III project.
